Knowledge Base:  Hosting - E-mail Management:  SMTP Authentication in Outlook Express

To do this in Outlook Express:
  1. From the "Tools" menu, choose "Accounts"
  2. Select the mail tab and the account you need to change
  3. Click the "Properties" button
  4. Choose the "Servers" tab
  5. Check the "My Outgoing server requires authentication" box if neccessary
  6. Click the Settings button
  7. Select "Log on Using"
  8. Enter your entire email address and email password
  9. Ensure the Secure Authentication is NOT selected
  10. Click Apply, OK, and Close
SMTP Authentication should now be properly configured.
